It’s that time of year again… as memories of champagne and confetti fade we wake up in the new year with a headache and perhaps some regrets of all the rich foods we overindulged in during the holiday season.
Many capitalize on this regret… diet plans, cleanse regimens, and gym membership offers abound – but what is a foodie to do? Too many of the readily available options do not satisfy the more discerning palates of the true food lover. Even worse, as many of us resolve to eat more cleanly and/or organically this year – a majority of the available diet options feature over-processed or chemical heavy pseudo-foods… NOT what I am looking for.
Enter BonAppetit and their “Food Lovers Cleanse”… This seasonally appropriate, healthy and inventive meal plan guides the food lover through two weeks of clean eating – what a great, healthy (and culinarily challenging) way to kick off the new year!

I plan on following this meal plan, posting a few of the more interesting recipes and my reviews of them here, and then reviewing the overall results at the end of the two weeks. I may swap out a meal or two with a menu or recipe of my own that will still keep to the basic ideology of the plan – mostly to make the plan fit into my schedule… Stay tuned for these updates – the plan starts Jan 2! ***OK – the UPDATED part… the plan starts Jan 2, but I was overly optimistic about MY ability to start this on the 2nd! I am pushing this meal plan two weeks and will be starting Jan 15th. (I underestimated the difficulty of doing this plan with house guests and planned events throughout the next two weeks!!).
